Aberdeen citizens will be required to follow the curbside policies listed below.  Renters will need to sign for their container at the water department.

Residential:

Allowed one garbage and one recycling curbside container per residence.  If a citizen is disabled and unable to place container at the curb, please call 944-7799.

Commercial:

Allowed one 95-gallon curbside container.  Heavier garbage producers can request up to two more curbside containers.   If any business requires more than the three 95-gallon curbside containers, according to city ordinance, that business will need to contract dumpster service with a private waste company.  However, if the business location is unsuitable for a dumpster, extra containers are available with additional fees applied.

There will no longer be a makeup day if a route falls on a holiday that Town Administrative Offices are closed.  The route will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled day.

CURBSIDE POLICY

1. The curbside container may be placed at the curb either the night before or by 7:00 a.m. the morning of your regularly scheduled garbage day.

2.  The front of the curbside container needs to face the street for easy pickup.

3.  The containers are to be removed from the curb the same day after garbage/recycle is removed from the container. Solid waste should still be placed in plastic bags.  Please do not place loose waste or yard waste in curbside containers.

4.  The curbside container is the property of the Town of Aberdeen and is issued to the property; therefore the container is to remain with the property if you move.

·   The Town will supply the first container at no cost to the resident or business, but if lost, stolen, or damaged, the resident or business will be responsible for replacement.  The container is the property of the Town of Aberdeen, so if you sell or move away from the property then the container stays with the property.
