Blue & Brews: A Festival at the Farm

Join us for a day at The Farm with bluegrass performances.  Beer, cider, and food will be available for purchase.  Malcolm Blue Farm is located at 1177 Bethesda Road, Aberdeen.

Senior Games in the Pines

Senior Games in the Pines offers competition in a variety of activities such as: golf, bowling, team sports, swimming, pickleball, cornhole, bocce ball, painting, pottery, singing, dancing and much more for participants aged 50 or better.


Registration: March 9 - March 15 with registration fee of $15

Opening games celebration will be held at Penick Village on April 4th from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Join us for a free lunch, special ceremony, and packet pick up.

Closing ceremony and celebration dinner will be held at the Fair Barn on May 14th from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and pre-registration is required.

Stroller Strong Moms

SLAM is a fun, but challenging workout for moms of all levels. You’ll meet other moms while doing burpees and your little ones get to make friends, too. They have weekly playgroups and monthly Moms Night Out events. Whether you’ve never worked out, you’re a marathon runner, or you just want to socialize, SLAM is for you. Tai Chi

Join Master Lee Holbrook as he teaches the fundamentals of tai chi and helps alleviate stress and anxiety and improves mood and joint pain. Classes are held on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. at the Recreation Center. Registration fees per month are $21 for residents and $32 for non-residents.  Pre-registration is required.


Let's Go Fishing

Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Department has rods and reels available for rent inside the Aberdeen Recreation Center Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The rental is free for residents and $3 for non-residents.

NC state law requires ages 16 and up to have a fishing license. A 10 day license is available at Wal-Mart for $5. Ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Town of Aberdeen Parks & Recreation Department's Fee Policy 

The Parks and Recreation Department is an agency of the Town of Aberdeen and receives municipal tax revenue paid by residents living inside the corporate limits of the Town.  Others who live outside the corporate limits are charged a higher rate for participation in our programs because they do not pay Town taxes.

 

The policy for application of this fee differential is as follows:

You must live inside the corporate limits of Aberdeen at the time of your registration in order to be charged the Town of Aberdeen resident rate.  All others will be charged the non-resident rate.

Refunds of fees paid for most activities will be made under certain conditions.  For allowed refunds, there may be a refund fee of up to $5.00.  Refunds are not available after the activity registration deadline except for substantial hardships.  Complete refund policy is available upon request from the Parks and Recreation Department.
