Upcoming Downtown Associate Community Meetings

On December 13th, from 5:00 – 6:15pm, our Main Street representatives will be here to discuss the Main Street Design Basics: Secretary of Interiors Standards & Utilization of Historic Tax Credits. This would be a great session for those looking to learn more about renovating historic structures and how the State and Federal Historic Tax Credits can help those projects come to life. This meeting will be held at Aberdeen Town Hall (115 N Poplar Street).

The next morning (12/14) from approximately 8:15 – 10:00am, we will be meeting again to learn about the most recent ordinance review that was performed by the folks at the NC Main Street and Rural Planning Center. The ordinances that have been reviewed pertain specifically to the downtown area. The presentation will provide an overview as to whether or not the regulations currently in place pose any restrictions that could potentially deter downtown development efforts. Then to complete the morning, Liz Parham will be presenting the economic position/vision for Downtown Aberdeen. We had a great crowd at the September 13th meeting and those in attendance played a huge role in helping put this vision together. We hope everyone will come back to see the work that has been done since that evening. This meeting will be held at the Aberdeen Recreation Center (301 Lake Park Crossing) – refreshments will be provided.

Please RSVP by no later than Friday, December 9th. If you have any questions contact Daniel Martin at 910.944.4506.
