Paul and Anna Murphy, Family and Friends will present an evening of Cool Jazz at the Malcolm Blue Farm in Aberdeen. The date is Thursday, September 26th at 7:00 p.m. The gate opens at 5:30pm. Admission is $20 at the gate or $15 in advance by calling 910-603-2739 or 910-944-7685. Children thirteen years of age and under are free.
An old fashioned autumn weenie roast with all the fixings, s’mores and Frito pies are included on the menu for $5. Roast your own wiener.
The popular Paul Murphy and Friends will present a program filled with popular jazz tunes and Anna will vocalize with American standard ballads and Portuguese bossa. Dr. Larry Arnold will be on bass, Gary Brown on drums and Paul on piano and saxophone.
The Jazz Concert is part of the Malcolm Blue Historical Society’s 44th Historical Crafts and Farmskills Festival, open to the public September 28th and 29th. Benches available for seating at the farm but for a more enjoyable evening, guests are encouraged to bring outdoor lawn chairs.
Sponsors of the event are Aberdeen Coca Cola, ATEX and McDonalds of Aberdeen. Proceeds will be used to preserve the 1825 Farm House and to repair and preserve the Stable and Farm Buildings.
