Mini Food PantryEric Sabiston, a rising junior at Pinecrest High School, made a decision to support his Aberdeen community with various projects during his high school career.  His first project involved building a mini food pantry that houses donations of non-perishable food items. The inscription on the pantry reads, “Give what you can, Take what you need”. Local individuals may visit the pantry & take items that they need for their families. Others may feel called to donate to the pantry to help their fellow citizens.

Sabiston built the mini food pantry with guidance from his grandfather (Bill Brewer of Gloucester, VA). With the support of Aberdeen’s Mayor Robbie Farrell, Sabiston saw his efforts realized.

The mini food pantry is located near the playground at the Aberdeen Lake Park Recreation Center (301 Lake Park Crossing). Sabiston says that other community projects are in the works and he looks forward to continuing with his commitment to his town.
