Water Service & Trash/Recycle Collection - Hurricane Florence
Posted on Wednesday September 12, 2018

Please take all precautions in preparing for the impacts of Hurricane Florence.

WATER – The town fully expects to continue its water service to Aberdeen residents even if we have a power outage over several days. Extenuating circumstances or a severe weather event such as a tornado can change this but power outages for even several days should not interrupt our supply of water. (If you are not an Aberdeen customer or use a well – this will not apply to you and you should make preparations to provide your own temporary water supply.)

TRASH – The town will pick-up normally scheduled trash routes on Thursday, Sept. 13, but WILL NOT pick-up trash on normally scheduled routes for Friday, Sept. 14. The Friday locations will not be picked up until the following Friday, Sept. 21, so please do not place you garbage or recycling bins outside for pick-up. All others - please secure your garbage and recycling bins or move them indoors to a garage during the storm event from Thursday evening until the high winds clear on Sunday or Monday.  While we hope to resume the normal trash pick-up schedule on Monday, Sept. 17, please check back to the town website for updates to the schedule following the storm event.
