Aberdeen is very excited to once again host the Reindeer Fun Run and hope all our citizens will be on hand to support the participants and join the fun downtown after the race. This year’s event will be Saturday, December 2nd and will include a 5K Run/Walk and 12K Run (for more serious competitors), the ever popular Egg Nog Jog for kids 9 and under, a costume competition for race participants, and an After Party held in Downtown Aberdeen with lots of fun events for kids and adults (Kids’ Zone open from 8am to Noon).

We anticipate a large crowd of participants and spectators during the morning hours and some streets that are included in the routes will be closed for the duration of the race. While some streets will have one lane open during the race, leaving and entering driveways may not be possible while runners are on the route. Planning your morning with this information in mind will help us to avoid conflicts and inconveniences. We expect to have all roads re-opened no later than 12:00 noon. Aberdeen thanks you for supporting this great community event. 100% of the proceeds from the race go to The Boys & Girls’ Clubs of the Sandhills (Aberdeen and Southern Pines). This event, now in its 8th year, has raised more than $234,000 for this organization and is the largest single fundraiser to this worthy cause, serving the needs of local kids and families.
