DUTIES
The Town of Aberdeen Planning Department provides guidance for matters of land and building development through  the review and approval process.  The staff is for the following:

• Assist the public in their compliance with the Zoning Ordinance
• Review development proposals for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance
• Processing Zoning Permits, Conditional Use Permits, Sign Permits, Zoning Code Text Amendments and Rezoning Requests
• Review Site Plans, Preliminary & Final Plats
• Respond to citizen complaints and inquiries associated with land use activities
• Assisting the Town Board of other Commissions

The Inspection Department is responsible for the following:

• Enforcing the NC State Building Code throughout the Town's jurisdiction
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with local and state regulations
• Enforcing the Town's Minimum Housing Code
• Providing building inspections and building code information
• Issuing building permits
