These suggestions can save you money!

Backups, blockages and overflows can create serious problems for the environment resulting in health problems, foul odors, property damage, and pollution for rivers and streams.  That is why we are asking our citizens to please adhere to the following guidelines when disposing of grease.

DO NOT

· Pour grease, fats and oils from cooking down the drain.

· Use the toilet as a wastebasket.

· Disposable diapers, condoms, and personal hygiene products do not belong in the sewer system.

· Use the sewer as a means to dispose of food scraps.

DO

· Collect grease in a container and dispose of it in the garbage.

· Place a wastebasket in each bathroom for the disposal of solid waste.

· Place food scraps in waste containers or the garbage for disposal with solid waste, or better yet, start a compost pile.

· Promote the concept of “3 R’s”:  Reduce, Recycle, Reuse.
